Sending Samples to us
As an realtor, you may run into asbestos problems from time to time. Seattle Asbestos Test is here to assist you when you run into such problems.
Can I mail the Samples to Your Lab by USPS, FedEx, UPS or other mail carrier?
The answer is yes. Based on the DOT Hazardous Materials Table in 49 CFR 172.101, you should be able to mail sample sized potential asbestos containing material to a tesing lab. This link lists asbestos along with the other hazardous materials, and it can be seen from it that asbestos is mailable.
In Publication 52 - Hazardous, Restricted, and Perishable Mail, you'd find more detailed information about mailing asbestos.
You should consult the postal services for details.
How to mail the Samples
Mail the samples to us either by regular mail services or by express mail services depending on your needs, and make sure your package contain the following:
(1) The sample
(2) The filled Chain of Custody, with both your first and last name, Complete mailing address including the zip code, and Phone number we can reach you for result reporting (If you have difficulty to print the Chain of Custody, write down the required information on a piece of paper and enclose it in your letter). Also indicate on the provided section at the bottom of the COC how you would like to be informed of the results, i.e, by phone, fax, e-mail, or picking up report.
(3) Payment in check or money order.(Cash is accepted when sample is delivered by homeowner)
