Any contractors not mentioned in above sections may still have a need for asbestos testing. Here are some examples for each.

Cabinet builders and Carpenters

not all wood-like products are wood, and asbestos does associated with wood products in some rare cases.

Concrete Contractors

Transite resemble concrete in some ways, and they may contain high percentage of asbestos. An existing concrete floor may have asbestos remnants from some olding flooring covered under.

Electrical Contractors

Wires should be tested for asbestos because many old electric wires are composed of asbestos and some other fibers plus the rubbery material and the metal core.

Excavation and Grading Contractors

have the soil or debris in the land and the trenches tested for asbestos.

Fencing

If there's old roping or wiring on the fence or the fence is not pure, have the non-metal component tested for asbestos.

Gutters and Downspouts

Asbestos containing roofing material, either asphaltic or silver painting may be deposited in the gutters. Have them tested for asbestos.

Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors

Because asbestos is fire-proof, it is most used with heating systems. The wrapping or taping on the HVAC ductwork may very well contain HIGH percentage of asbestos.

Masonry Contractors

if anything around the fireplaces, patios, and walkways look suspicious to you, have them tested.

Paving Contractors

often times, asphaltic material or tar are used for paving, patching, emulsion coating, and striping. Have them tested for asbestos.

Plaster and Stucco Contractors

stucco and plaster often contain asbestos in the range from trace amount to 5%.

Plumbing Contractors

the sealent around the sinks, toilet bowl and bathtubs may contain asbestos as well as the undercoating applied on them.

Security systems

have the old wire tested for asbestos.

Septic Systems

old gaskets may contain asbestos.

Windows

window putties and window caulking often contain asbestos.
