The opening is for an asbestos PLM analyst, either full or part time.

Responsibilities

Preparation and analysis of environmental asbestos bulk PLM samples and air PCM samples and reporting and reviewing of the analytical information. Also responsible for implementing corrective actions and reviewing of fellow analysts' analytical data. Assist in daily laboratory operational duties if needed. Willing to help in field surveys if required.

Qualifications

BS, Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Mineralogy or related material science

5 years PLM and/or PCM analytical experience in a NVLAP accredited asbestos testing laboratory and or certified in asbestos identification using polarized light microscopy by a recognized trainer such as McCrone or MICA.

Successfully completed at least 32 hours of NIOSH 582 training.

Experience with FAA, PCM, PLM, SEM, TEM and XRD is a plus.

Able to read and understand standard operating procedures and laboratory QA manual.

Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and good data entry skills.
