Proficiency and Requirements
With employment length up to 30 months, able to handle heavy sample load with very good accuracy. The QA/QC rate is 50% to 90%. Certified with NIOSH 7400 and NIOSH 582. Able to independently describe samples with 90% accuracy up to 12 layers. In terms of slide preparation, able to prepare all insulation samples correctly, and able to prepare 75% NOB samples. 100% correctness in color and content description of PLM bulk samples. PLM Microscope skills include identifying Chrysotile, Amosite, Crocidolite, Actinolite, Tremolite, Cellulose, Glass Fiber, Talc, Polyethylene, Sythetic Fibers, Mineral Wools. 100% accuracy in recognizing morphology and color of the above types of asbestos and non-asbestos fibers. When measuring refractive indices, the allowed range is mo more than 0.002. Good at measuring sign of elongation, 85% conformance when measuring birefringence. Good at measuring extinction. In regards to participation of PAT rounds, participate and pass with an acceptable rate in AIHA, NVLAP, Inter-Lab Rounds and Intra-Lab Rounds. In terms of PLM testing Methods, very good understanding of EPA 600/R-93/116, EPA 600/M4-82-020, OSHA ID 191, NIOSH 9002. Perform well in EPA Point Count, and gravimetric methods. Able to perform Beckline method, Dispersion Staining for both Central and Annular Methods. Daily routine for setting up microscopes, daily routine for adjusting the microscopes, and able to calibrate microscopes.
